Our Commitment to Privacy

Our Website Privacy Policy is an extension of our commitment to provide the highest quality of services combined with the highest level of integrity in interacting with our Members, their families, and our guests and employees. This Policy is intended to assist you in understanding how we collect, use, and safeguard personal information you provide to us and to assist you in making informed decisions about using our website and related technologies and services. This Policy will be regularly assessed against new technologies, business practices, and user needs.

What Information Do We Collect?

When you visit our website you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis and website use information, automatically collected on an aggregate (non-individual) basis as you and others browse our website.

1. Individual Personal Information You Choose to Provide
Email Information

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ with respect to information received by mail and telephone.

2. Website Use Information

Similar to other business websites, our website utilizes standard technologies such as “cookies” (see explanation below, “What Are Cookies?”) and server logs to collect information about how our website is used. Information gathered through cookies, server logs, and similar technology may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, the time spent on our website, and the websites visited just before and just after visiting our website. This information is collected on an aggregate basis. None of this information is associated with you as an individual.

How Do We Use Information That You Provide to Us?

Broadly speaking, we use personal information for purposes of administering and improving our business activities, providing Member, Member family member, guest, and other customer service and making available services and products to our customers and prospective customers. We may use the information we collect to notify you about significant changes to our website and about new services and special offers we think you will find valuable. Lists used to send you service and product offers are developed and managed under our Club standards designed to safeguard the security and privacy of our Members’ personal information. Members will be given the opportunity at least once annually to notify us of your desire not to receive such offers.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are a feature of web browser software which allows web servers to recognize the device used to access the website. Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored by a user’s web browser on the user’s device. Cookies can remember what information a user accessed on one web page to simplify subsequent interactions with the same website by the same user or to use the information to streamline the user’s transactions on related web pages. This makes it easier for a user to move from web page to web page and to complete commercial transactions over the Internet. Cookies should make your online experience easier and more personalized. Our website and servers may also use other technologies which collect user and technical information such as your IP address, page views, clicks, and other analytical information.

How Do We Use Information We Collect from Cookies?

We use website browser software tools such as cookies and server logs to gather information about our website users’ browsing activities in order to consistently improve our website and better serve our Members and their families and our guests. This information assists us to design and arrange our web pages in a user-friendly manner and to continually improve our website to better meet the needs of our Members, their families, guests, other customers, and prospective Members and visitors.

Cookies help us collect important business and technical statistics. The information collected lets us trace the paths followed by users to our website as they move from one page to another. Web server logs allow us to count how many people visit our website and evaluate our website’s visitor capacity.

How Do We Secure Information Transmissions?

If you send credit card information to us on our website, secure server software which we have licensed encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. The information is scrambled en route and decoded once it reaches our website.

Email sent to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. Please do not send confidential information such as Social Security or account numbers or other personal information to us through unsecured email.

How Do We Protect Your Information?

Information Security. We utilize encryption/security software to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure and accidental loss, alteration, or destruction.

Evaluation of Information Protection Practices. Our operations and business practices are periodically reviewed for compliance with Club policies and procedures governing the security, confidentiality and quality of our information.

Employee Access, Training and Expectations. Our Club values, ethical standards, and policies and practices are committed to the protection of Member, visitor, and employee information. In general, our business practices limit employee access to confidential information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons for appropriate processes and transactions.

How Can You Access and Correct Your Information?

You may request access to all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing DAC IT Director Randy Carrizales, randyc@thedac.com.

What About Legally Compelled Disclosure of Information?

We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights.

What About Other Web Sites Linked to Our Web Site?

We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our website nor for the information or content contained therein. Links to other websites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our website.

Please remember that when you use a link to go from our website to another website, our Website Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link on our website, is subject to that website’s own rules and policies. Please read over those rules and policies before proceeding.

Your Consent, Waiver, and Hold Harmless

Any user’s use of the Site constitutes that user’s consent to the Club’s collection, storage, retention, and use of personal information, that user’s waiver of any claim or cause of action against the Club and its Members, Directors, Officers, committees, employees, volunteers, vendors, suppliers, agents, attorneys, and affiliates with respect to collection, storage, retention, and use of personal information, and that user’s promise to defend, indemnify, and hold the Club and as applicable its Members, Directors, Officers, committees, employees, volunteers, vendors, suppliers, agents, attorneys, and affiliates harmless in the event any or all of the above is sued or subject to any regulatory proceeding or claim by you or any member of your family or successor based on the collection, storage, retention, and/or use of that user’s personal information; this promise to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless is binding on user’s Estate, personal representative, and other successors and assigns.
